Day 9: Book That Makes You Sick

I took a lot of History classes in College and my favorite professor's area of expertise was german history. I took quite a few classes about WWII, one class just happened to be all about Hitler. Needless to say every book that we read in that class could qualify as making me sick. The thing that stood out about this book was the chapter named Intimate Knowledge which focused on how much the German people actually knew about what was happening. Very sad and very sickening.

What book made you feel ill?

Day 8: Book That Scares You

This one was easy

The Historian written by Elizabeth Kostova

Basically it is a book about Dracula and it scared me to death. I thought Dracula himself was going to sneak into my room and kill me at any moment while reading this book. Plus, I read it while I was camping with my family which made it worse by being out in the middle of the woods. If I remember correctly the wind had something to do with him appearing. Anyway it was really well written and was very suspenseful. It was not scary because of a lot of deaths or gore or terror (it had none of this) it was just the possibility of it. Very well written, and terrifying.

What book scared you the most?

Day 7: Book that you can quote/recite

HMMMM, this one is a hard one for me because I don't think I can quote any, my brain really doesn't work that way. So instead I have decided to go with a book that I have read the most. Which is....

I know I have all ready used this book but I have read it so many times it is falling apart. The binding is shot and whole sections of pages come out of the book. And I could totally give a play by play of the entire book, so I suppose that counts as reciting.

So, What book have you read so many times it is falling apart?

Review: Dragons Among the Eagles

Dragons Among the Eagles

Dragons Among Us opened a door to the possibility of secret societies, creatures of legend and a whole world unseen by the human population. The Dragons story continues when Cyre and Aleda return to Portland from the Dragon Council in China. For Aleda, returning to life as usual is not an option. With all of the turns and twists she has recently experienced “normal” is out the window. Her newly discovered dragon senses and the ever present reporters’ curiosity will keep her on the move discovering just how close to home the Shifter troubles really are. As she realizes how hard it is to keep her secret life separate from the human world she will have to depend on old friends to help her mesh the two worlds safely. Dragons Among the Eagles is an excellent sequel that will hold your attention until the very end and leave you craving more. Well done Ms. Kraemer for delivering yet another awesome book!

Worthy of a 5 Angel Eyes rating

Day 5: Book You Wish You Could Live In

Through A Glass Darkly by Karleen Koen

I choose this book because I am absolutely obsessed with the time period, 17th century England. I love the descriptions, the court, the balls, everything.

Day 4: Book That Makes You Cry

I know it has been a long time since my last post but I got a bit distracted last week. However, I am back on track now :)

Where The Red Fern Grows

I remember reading this book in my Sixth grade Lit class, and absolutely balling my eyes out at the end of the book; when the second dog curls up on the other's grave and dies of a broken heart, is the saddest scene EVER! I have a huge soft spot for animal, especially dogs, and this just broke my heart.

What Book got the tears rolling for you?
